Belleville, IL (December 28, 2019) Uncharted territory, fan-favorite running grounds, and anticipated visits to tracks of the past are all on the agenda for the 2020 POWRi Lucas Oil WAR Sprint Car League racing season. With an aggressive 46 scheduled dates set for competition, WAR drivers will see action in 7 states from early March until mid-October.
Kicking the season off in style on Saturday, March 7th at Springfield Raceway in Springfield Missouri to wrapping up the season in Sapulpa OK at Creek County Speedway for the Fall Fling/Season Championship on October 16-17; as well as all the stops in-between, 2020 is shaping up to be another stellar year for the POWRi Lucas Oil WAR Sprint Car League.
Staple events of POWRi continue with appearances at the iconic Knoxville Raceway in Knoxville, IA for the Corn Belt Nationals with USAC on July 10-11; Southern Iowa Speedway in Oskaloosa, IA for their annual “Ultimate Challenge” on Tuesday, August 11, and the 9th Annual Hockett/McMillin Memorial at Lucas Oil Speedway in Wheatland, MO on September 17-19.
Valley Speedway in Grain Valley, Missouri will host the most POWRI Lucas Oil WAR Sprint Car League appearances with nine dates scheduled. Of those, the most notable being Night #1 of the Missouri Open Wheel Showdown Weekend on Friday, May 1st, “King of Kansas City” on Saturday July 18th, and the Weld Family Memorial on Saturday, September 12th.
WAR embarks on new territory in 2020 with first time track appearances including; the Little Rock Nationals at I-30 Speedway in Little Rock AR on April 17-18, Central Missouri Speedway in Warrensburg MO (5/23, 8/22), and Adams County Speedway in Corning, IA on Saturday, June 20th.
A few tracks that are back by popular demand in 2020 include race dates at Humboldt Speedway in Humboldt, KS on Friday, May 8, The Salina High Banks in Pryor, OK on Saturday, May 9, Tri-State Speedway in Haubstadt, IN on Saturday, June 27, and the historic half mile in Sedalia, MO for the Missouri State Fair race on Sunday, August 23.
Any rule changes or updates, TBA scheduling changes, as well as the upcoming release of the newly sanctioned POWRi Lucas Oil Iowa Sprint Car League 2020 season schedule will be announced as they are confirmed.
