Second Annual Leffler Memorial Race at Wayne County Speedway on August 26th
Wayne County Speedway is pleased to announce the second annual Jason Leffler Memorial race sponsored by Great Clips on Tuesday, August 26th at 7 PM. The event is one of the largest purses for a POWRI midget race with a $10,000 payout to the winner. 100% of the front entrance will go to the Charlie Dean Leffler Discretionary Fund. Among a host of notable racers, current World of Outlaws champion Daryn Pittman and NASCAR Sprint Cup Series driver, JJ Yeley, have committed to compete in the event. BELL DOMINATES ANGELL PARK FOR “CORNFEST” WIN
Sun Prairie, Wisconsin.……Christopher Bell picked up where he left off at Angell Park Speedway, backing up a weekend sweep in July with the flag-to-flag win in Sunday night’s “CornFest” 30-lapper. It was Bell’s fifth Honda National Midget win of the year in a race that was co-sanctioned by both POWRi and BMARA. It was Bell’s 14th career USAC win, tying him for 45th all-time.

Clauson Takes Thrilling Midget Victory, Camp Wins First of 2014 Season
Lincoln, IL. – Bryan Clauson of Noblesville, Indiana won his 24th career POWRi Lucas Oil National Midget Series feature after a hard fought, action-packed battle with Rico Abreu and Christopher Bell of the Keith Kunz/Curb-Agajanian Motorsports stable at the semi-banked ¼ mile Lincoln Speedway. Jeremy Camp ran away with the POWRi Speedway Motors 600cc Outlaw Micro Series feature, claiming his first feature win of the 2014 season.

2014 Dana Godfrey Memorial in for a Double Dose of Action
MILLSTADT, IL (August 10, 2014) - POWRi is scheduled to visit Macon Speedway in Macon, IL on Saturday, August 16th for the 2014 Dana Godfrey Memorial. In addition to the excitement of being run in conjunction with the Illinois State Fair, fans will be treated to a double dose of action that night. In addition to a full regular show, the midgets will run a make-up feature in order to complete the portion of events that were rained out on April 26th. The micros will run their April 26th make-up feature on September 6th. For drivers who make it into both feature events, the double features will be a test of endurance as Macon Speedway is traditionally elbows up all night.

Angell Park Speedway Set to Host Fan-Favorite Miller Lite Cornfest
MILLSTADT, IL (July 30, 2014) - Angell Park Speedway is set host the fan-favorite Miller Lite Cornfest on Sunday, August 17th. The Miller Lite sponsored event will take place in conjunction with the annual Sweet Corn Festival hosted by the Sun Prairie Chamber of Commerce. The Sweet Corn Festival will commence on Thursday, August 14th and festival-goers will have the opportunity to enjoy a wide range of activities and entertainment throughout the weekend. Sunday night’s race will be the Sweet Corn Festival’s finale.

Lincoln Speedway to Host POWRi Midgets and Micros in Conjunction with the 2014 Illinois State Fair

The Western arm of Performance Open Wheel Racing, Inc. invaded Oklahoma City’s for the seventh time this season to stage their 12th overall affair.
Sixteen teams checked into I-44 Riverside pits, but only one emerged as the first three time POWRi West winner. Broken Arrow, Oklahoma’s Alex Sewell earned the pole position via a sensational heat race win from the final row and was joined on the front row of the 25 lap main event by Guthrie, Oklahoma’s Michelle Decker, herself the second highest racer in passing points after a savvy last lap, last turn move from 4th to 2nd in the second heat race.

Clauson Claims Knepper Memorial, Andruskevitch Scores Micro Victory
Belleville, IL. – Bryan Clauson of Noblesville, Indiana overcame a flat left rear tire on lap 11 and raced his way back up front to claim the 23rd Annual Arnie Knepper Memorial, Clauson’s 23rd career POWRi Lucas Oil National Midget Series win and his first of the 2014 season at the high-banked 1/5th mile Belle-Clair Speedway in Belleville, Illinois. Aaron Andruskevitch of Riverton, Illinois took his second POWRi Speedway Motors 600cc Outlaw Micro Series win of the 2014 season.

MILLSTADT, IL – The POWRi Lucas Oil National Midget Series and the POWRi Speedway Motors 600cc Outlaw Micro Series will visit Belle-Clair Speedway in Belleville, IL on Sunday, August 10th for the 23rd annual Arnie Knepper Memorial. Knepper, a Belleville native, was one of the best drivers to ever come out of the St. Louis area. He won five St. Louis Auto Racing Association Midget championships from 1954 to 1960. Knepper also drove in the Indianapolis 500 five times from 1965 to 1969. Some of Knepper’s notable wins are at the famed Little 500 Sprint Car race at Anderson, IN in 1962 in addition to six midget and two sprint car races in USAC national events. Knepper died in Belleville in 1992.

Joe B. Miller Takes Fourth Season Victory at Southern Illinois Raceway
Marion, IL. – Joe B. Miller of Millersville, Missouri claimed his fourth POWRi Speedway Motors 600cc Outlaw Micro Series victory of the 2014 season at the 1/8 mile high-banked Southern Illinois Raceway. Pole-sitter Dereck King of Goreville, Illinois would lead the field to the green in his FTZ-powered Boss Chassis, taking charge on lap one as Miller’s attempt to put pressure on King had no leg to stand on. With five laps in the book and King stretching out his lead, Jake Neuman would slow entering turn one, coming to a stop in turn two, bringing out the first caution of the 30 lap feature event. Shelby Bosie of Sherman, Illinois would pull to the infield, suffering mechanical woes unrelated to Neuman’s slowing.

Flud Claims Second POWRi Victory, Kadous Takes Non-Wing Feature
Wayne City, IL. – Frank Flud of Pryor, Oklahoma ran away with all 30 laps of the $5,000 to Win Cornhusker Nationals, claiming his second POWRi Speedway Motors 600cc Outlaw Micro Series victory and Dylan Kadous of Topeka, Kansas won the POWRi Speedway Motors 600cc Non-Wing feature at the 1/8th mile semi-banked Wayne County Speedway.

Wayne County Speedway to Host $5,000 to Win Corn Husker Nationals Followed by POWRi’s Return to Southern Illinois Raceway
MILLSTADT, IL (July 14, 2014) - The POWRi Speedway Motors 600cc Outlaw Micro Series will make its way to Wayne County Speedway for the $5,000 to win Corn Husker Nationals. The Friday, July 25th event in Wayne County, IL will be the first of two times that POWRi will visit the 1/8 mile dirt semi-banked oval. POWRi’s second visit to Wayne County Speedway will bring along the POWRi Lucas Oil National Midgets for the Tuesday, August 26th Jason Leffler Memorial. This year’s Corn Husker Nationals will be the second annual, as Blane Culp took home the inaugural win in 2013.

Hagen Doubles Down and Goes Two in a Row, Benson Dominates Micro Feature
Farmington, MO. – Darren Hagen of Riverside, California went two for two in POWRi Lucas Oil National Midget Series competition, by dominating both feature events of the weekend. First, at Belle-Clair Speedway, Friday night, July 18th and second, Saturday night, July 19th at St. Francois County Raceway in Farmington, Missouri. The victory at St. Francois County Raceway was Hagen’s fifth United States win of the 2014 season. Nathan Benson of Concordia, Missouri crushed any doubts cast from the previous night’s feature at Belle-Clair Speedway, where Benson brought home the runner-up position, by flat out running away with the feature event to claim his 11th career win in the POWRi Speedway Motors 600cc Outlaw Micro Series.

Hagen Takes Home Midget Feature, King Scores Micro Win
Belleville, IL. – Darren Hagen of Riverside, California ran away with the feature to take home his fourth career POWRi Lucas Oil National Midget Series victory of 2014 at the high-banked 1/5th mile Belle-Clair Speedway in Belleville, Illinois. Dereck King of Vienna, Illinois stole his 23rd career win in the POWRi Speedway Motors 600cc Outlaw Micro Series.

Belle-Clair & Farmington
MILLSTADT, IL (July 14, 2014) – The POWRi Lucas Oil National Midget Series and the POWRi Speedway Motors 600cc Outlaw Motor Series will head to Belle-Clair Speedway in Belleville, Illinois on Friday, July 18th. This will be the third time POWRi has visited the 1/5 mile dirt high-banked oval during the 2014 season. The first two events of 2014 at Belle-Clair Speedway were the Belleville Bash and the 2014 Illinois SPEED Week finale. At the Belleville Bash, Christopher Bell took home the feature win in the midgets while Joe B. Miller came out on top in the micros. The 2014 Illinois SPEED Week finale at Belle-Clair Speedway brought out 47 midgets and 76 micros. Tyler Thomas captured the Illinois SPEED Week finale win in the midgets while Joe B. Miller came out victorious again in the micros.

Bayer Blasts to First Win of Season
The Western reps of Performance Open Wheel Racing, Inc. made their way to the whirling confines of Tornado Alley, their sixth visit to I-44 Riverside in the first full year of POWRi West. An increased effort on surface preparation paid off and fans were treated to some savvy moves on the 1/5th mile red clay oval despite the near 100 degree temperatures and a wild 2nd heat race sent signs for what was to come in the 25 lap main event before a rapidly increasing fan base for the first year series.
