Joe B. Miller Takes Fourth Season Victory at Southern Illinois Raceway
Marion, IL. – Joe B. Miller of Millersville, Missouri claimed his fourth POWRi Speedway Motors 600cc Outlaw Micro Series victory of the 2014 season at the 1/8 mile high-banked Southern Illinois Raceway. Pole-sitter Dereck King of Goreville, Illinois would lead the field to the green in his FTZ-powered Boss Chassis, taking charge on lap one as Miller’s attempt to put pressure on King had no leg to stand on. With five laps in the book and King stretching out his lead, Jake Neuman would slow entering turn one, coming to a stop in turn two, bringing out the first caution of the 30 lap feature event. Shelby Bosie of Sherman, Illinois would pull to the infield, suffering mechanical woes unrelated to Neuman’s slowing. Full Story
Flud Claims Second POWRi Victory, Kadous Takes Non-Wing Feature
Wayne City, IL. – Frank Flud of Pryor, Oklahoma ran away with all 30 laps of the $5,000 to Win Cornhusker Nationals, claiming his second POWRi Speedway Motors 600cc Outlaw Micro Series victory and Dylan Kadous of Topeka, Kansas won the POWRi Speedway Motors 600cc Non-Wing feature at the 1/8th mile semi-banked Wayne County Speedway.

Wayne County Speedway to Host $5,000 to Win Corn Husker Nationals Followed by POWRi’s Return to Southern Illinois Raceway
MILLSTADT, IL (July 14, 2014) - The POWRi Speedway Motors 600cc Outlaw Micro Series will make its way to Wayne County Speedway for the $5,000 to win Corn Husker Nationals. The Friday, July 25th event in Wayne County, IL will be the first of two times that POWRi will visit the 1/8 mile dirt semi-banked oval. POWRi’s second visit to Wayne County Speedway will bring along the POWRi Lucas Oil National Midgets for the Tuesday, August 26th Jason Leffler Memorial. This year’s Corn Husker Nationals will be the second annual, as Blane Culp took home the inaugural win in 2013.

Hagen Doubles Down and Goes Two in a Row, Benson Dominates Micro Feature
Farmington, MO. – Darren Hagen of Riverside, California went two for two in POWRi Lucas Oil National Midget Series competition, by dominating both feature events of the weekend. First, at Belle-Clair Speedway, Friday night, July 18th and second, Saturday night, July 19th at St. Francois County Raceway in Farmington, Missouri. The victory at St. Francois County Raceway was Hagen’s fifth United States win of the 2014 season. Nathan Benson of Concordia, Missouri crushed any doubts cast from the previous night’s feature at Belle-Clair Speedway, where Benson brought home the runner-up position, by flat out running away with the feature event to claim his 11th career win in the POWRi Speedway Motors 600cc Outlaw Micro Series.

Hagen Takes Home Midget Feature, King Scores Micro Win
Belleville, IL. – Darren Hagen of Riverside, California ran away with the feature to take home his fourth career POWRi Lucas Oil National Midget Series victory of 2014 at the high-banked 1/5th mile Belle-Clair Speedway in Belleville, Illinois. Dereck King of Vienna, Illinois stole his 23rd career win in the POWRi Speedway Motors 600cc Outlaw Micro Series.

MILLSTADT, IL (July 14, 2014) – The POWRi Lucas Oil National Midget Series and the POWRi Speedway Motors 600cc Outlaw Motor Series will head to Belle-Clair Speedway in Belleville, Illinois on Friday, July 18th. This will be the third time POWRi has visited the 1/5 mile dirt high-banked oval during the 2014 season. The first two events of 2014 at Belle-Clair Speedway were the Belleville Bash and the 2014 Illinois SPEED Week finale. At the Belleville Bash, Christopher Bell took home the feature win in the midgets while Joe B. Miller came out on top in the micros. The 2014 Illinois SPEED Week finale at Belle-Clair Speedway brought out 47 midgets and 76 micros. Tyler Thomas captured the Illinois SPEED Week finale win in the midgets while Joe B. Miller came out victorious again in the micros.

Bayer Blasts to First Win of Season
The Western reps of Performance Open Wheel Racing, Inc. made their way to the whirling confines of Tornado Alley, their sixth visit to I-44 Riverside in the first full year of POWRi West. An increased effort on surface preparation paid off and fans were treated to some savvy moves on the 1/5th mile red clay oval despite the near 100 degree temperatures and a wild 2nd heat race sent signs for what was to come in the 25 lap main event before a rapidly increasing fan base for the first year series.

Gehrke Tames Lincoln Speedway, Claims First POWRi Career Win
Lincoln, IL. – Chett Gehrke of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma won a hard fought battle with Zach Daum to take his first career POWRi Lucas Oil National Midget Series feature win at the ¼ mile, semi-banked Lincoln Speedway. The event at Lincoln Speedway was co-sanctioned by POWRi and the Badger Midget Series.

Fairbury Race has been Cancelled
Millstadt, IL – Due to the excessive amount of rainfall overnight and continuing into Saturday morning, the Fairbury American Legion Speedway event in Fairbury, IL has been postponed. Officials from Fairbury American Legion Speedway are disappointed, but officials from POWRi and the speedway are working together to reschedule the event.

MAVTV to Broadcast Bloomington Speedway and Brownstown Speedway Legs of the Ford EcoBoost Challenge on July 17th and July 24th
MILLSTADT, IL (July 7, 2014) – The POWRi Lucas Oil National Midget Series is thrilled to announce that the Bloomington Speedway and Brownstown Speedway legs of the Ford EcoBoost Challenge will be broadcast on MAVTV. The May 30th Bloomington Speedway event will be broadcast on Thursday, July 17th at 12:30PM and 3:30PM (ET), and the May 31st Brownstown Speedway event will be broadcast on Thursday, July 24th at 12:30PM and 3:30PM (ET).

MILLSTADT, IL (July 7, 2014) - Coming off the Pepsi Nationals at Angell Park Speedway in Wisconsin, POWRi will return to Illinois for two events co-sanctioned with the Badger Midget Auto Racing Association at Lincoln Speedway and Fairbury American Legion Speedway. POWRi has visited Lincoln Speedway one other time in 2014, with Tanner Thorson taking the win. The Friday, July 11th race in Lincoln, IL will bring the POWRi Midgets back to the ¼ mile dirt semi-banked oval.

Bell Keeps Ringing at “The Prairie,” Steals the 33rd Annual Pepsi Nationals
Sun Prairie, WI. – Christopher Bell continued his winning ways at Angell Park Speedway as he set the pace for the evening with quick time and then dominated the final 12 laps of the 30 lap POWRi Lucas Oil National Midget Series feature to take his first Pepsi Nationals title, an event co-sanctioned by POWRi, USAC, and Badger Midgets. The Norman, Oklahoma native led the three car Keith Kunz/Curb-Agajanian Motorsports stable to their podium sweep of the event in an almost repeat fashion from the night before, but with Tanner Thorson coming in second and Rico Abreu in third.

Bell Captures Night One of the Pepsi Nationals
Sun Prairie, WI. – Christopher Bell started on the pole of the 30 lap star-filled feature, taking the lead on lap one and never looked back to win night one of the co-sanctioned POWRi Lucas Oil National Midget Series/USAC/Badger Midgets Pepsi Nationals feature at Angell Park Speedway. Bell of Norman, Oklahoma, a now repeat winner at “The Prairie” had to battle stiff competition from the likes of defending Chili Bowl Nationals Champion Brian Clauson, open wheel hot shoe Tracy Hines, as well as his fellow Keith Kunz/Curb-Agajanian Motorsports teammates, Tanner Thorson and Rico Abreu.

Angell Park Speedway Set to Host the 33rd Annual Pepsi Nationals
Angell Park Speedway is set to continue the tradition of hosting the Pepsi Nationals. The two-day event will take place for its 33rd time on Saturday, July 5th and Sunday, July 6th. A full field of tough competitors is expected to compete, as the race is co-sanctioned by POWRi, USAC, and Badger.

The POWRi midgets and micros head to Tri-State Speedway in Haubstadt, IN on Saturday, June 28th for the Ford EcoBoost Challenge. The Ford EcoBoost Challenge is a three event series that is sponsored by Ford. Christopher Bell won the first two events at Bloomington Speedway on May 30th and Brownstown Speedway on May 31st. The event at Tri-State Speedway will be the final race of the Ford EcoBoost Challenge.
