Ryder Wells is a former karting and current micro-sprint racer from Lumberton, Texas. He is 15 years old and has been racing karts since 2016. In late 2015, Ryder found kart racing videos online, and he was instantly hooked! It didn't take long for him and his father, Zach Wells, to find a local track and get Ryder in a kart of his own.
Within his first year of racing, Ryder broke records and earned the Championship in the Junior division at his local track, The Kart Track at Golden Triangle Raceway in Beaumont, Texas. He would go on to win the Louisiana State Karting Championship in his age group.
After that first season of racing, Ryder began to travel further east, racing in Louisiana and Mississippi as well. He quickly made a name for himself and has multiple race wins and Top 3 finishes at tracks throughout Texas, Louisiana and Mississippi.
Ryder's favorite NASCAR driver is Jimmie Johnson, along with the rest of the Hendrick team. Ryder's favorite overall driver is Doc Hudson from Disney's Pixar film Cars, which was most-closely modeled after NASCAR Hall of Fame member, Herb Thomas.
