BELLE-VEGAS AND MIGHTY MACON UP NEXT

BELLEVILLE, ILL. (September 11, 2019) – Another Illinois two-step awaits the POWRi Lucas Oil National Midget League and the POWRi Engler Machine & Tool Outlaw Micro League this weekend, with events at Belle-Clair Speedway on Friday, September 13 and Macon Speedway on Saturday, September 14 up next.

The action gets underway on Friday night with a trip to one of the favorites, Belle-Clair Speedway, affectionately known as ‘Lil Belleville. For the POWRi National Midgets, Friday’s showdown will mark the 62nd appearance in league history and the third of the 2019 campaign.

Austin Brown of Millstadt, Ill. earned his third Belle-Clair triumph with a wire-to-wire win earlier this year on May 10, while Tyler Thomas of Collinsville, Okla. continued his reign over Belleville with his fourth BCS triumph on July 26.

Brad Loyet of Sunset Hills, Mo. continues to lead the way with a whopping 13 all-time victories at Belle-Clair, a metaphorical mile ahead of Brad Kuhn at five wins and then Brett Anderson, Bryan Clauson, Spencer Bayston, Tanner Thorson and Tyler Thomas all at four apiece.

For the POWRi Engler Machine & Tool Outlaw Micros, Friday’s venture is also their third trip of 2019 to Belle-Clair Speedway. In two previous visits, Aiden Purdue (May 10) and Joe B. Miller (May 17) have split wins at the fifth-mile oval.

On Saturday, the “Mighty Macon” Speedway takes center stage for only the second time this year. In Macon’s only appearance this year, Jake Neuman of New Berlin, Ill. won his first at the iconic track on July 27. Hampered by Mother Nature, three other POWRi dates at Macon on May 11, June 15 and August 17 have been washed away by rain.

Leading into the weekend, only nine races remain on the calendar for the POWRi Lucas Oil National Midgets. Jesse Colwell of Red Bluff, CA is currently on top of the point standings with. 5,740 points aboard his Keith Kunz-Curb Agajanian Motorsports, JBL Audio, Bullet/Toyota No. 71.

Colwell is chased by three-time league champion Zach Daum (-350 PTS) of Pocahontas, IL, teenage favorite Holley Hollan (-930 PTS) of Broken Arrow, OK, rising rookie Daison Pursley (1,140 PTS) of Locust Grove, OK, and seasoned vet Jake Neuman (1,150 PTS) of New Berlin, IL.

The POWRi Engler Machine & Tool Outlaw Micros saw their points chase take a dramatic turn last weekend at Jacksonville with a DNF from four-time champ, Joe B. Miller. Now, it’s Gunner Ramey of Sedalia, Mo. holding the top spot ahead of Miller (-60 PTS), Riley Goodno (-420 PTS), Harley Hollan (-700 PTS) and Trevin Littleton (-730 PTS).

On Friday at Belle-Clair, the pit gates will open at 1:00pm, the spectator games will open at 5:00pm, with hot laps at 6:00pm and racing to follow. General admission is $20 while kids (under 12) are FREE if accompanied by an adult.

On Saturday at Macon, the pits will open at 3:00pm, the stands open at 5:00pm, with hot laps at 6:00pm and racing to follow at 7:00pm.

Speed Shift TV will be on the scene providing a LIVE pay-per-view broadcast of both nights of racing. Those with the VIP Subscription already have access to both showings, but single-race packages are also available at www.speedshifttv.com.
