Chett Gehrke started in the front row of the POWRi/Illini Division II Midgets and went on claim the checkered flag in a 20-lap race. Cars ran the highside and lowside during the course of the 20-lap event but Gehrke mastered the 1/5-mile. The POWRi/Illini D2 Midget Series again had the crowd on the edge of their seats Saturday night at the fast little oval Sycamore Speedway in northern Illinois. Early in the feature, Aaron Schuck and Jeff Zelinski grabbed the first two positions with Tyler Vantoll and Patrick Bruns chasing them down.
