About Tyler

Tyler Nelson, an 18 yr. old Olathe, KS driver, started racing Go-Karts in 2008. He raced karts until he moved up in 2011 to the 600 Micro-Sprint Division. Tyler was named Rookie-of-the-Year at Valley Speedway that same year. Nelson raced in 50 consecutive races without incident. Out of those 50 races he finished in the top 10 of every race.

In 2013, #88 Tyler Nelson raced in 6 Midget races while still running full-time in the 600 Micro Sprint circuit. Nelson placed in the top 5 in all 6 Midget races. The following year, in 2014, Tyler moved up to the Midgets full-time. He was honored as 2014 Rookie-of-the-Year in the All Star Midget Series. Nelson also raced across the country in the POWRI series.

Off the track, Tyler Nelson is a proud member of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Kansas City. His hard work with the organization has earned him the title of Goodwill Ambassador and Official Spokesperson to the clubs. Nelson also has his own non-profit organization called KC Kids on Track. The program brings motorsports to kids in the inner-city, provides peer-to-peer mentoring, and emphasizes the importance of hard work, dedication, and dreams.
