Burks Battles All to Gain First-Ever Championship Gold

Burks Battles All to Gain First-Ever Championship Gold

Belleville, IL. (3/13/2020) One name dominated the landscape of the Iowa Sprint Car League in 2019. Capturing the Iowa Sprint League Points Championship in controlling fashion, Wyatt Burks would not only win all but two of his eight feature starts within the Iowa League but would place in the runner-up position in the other two features results.

Thrilling spectators, Wyatt drove his Salina 410 Racing Engine, Eagle Chassis, Ultra-Line Hobbies and RC Raceway, Torgesons Trenching, Clem’s Helmets, Jadon’s Hope Foundation, KH Suspension, Bind-Rey Express, Lazy L Ranch, Midwest Small Engines, Rumsey Special #11w out of Topeka, Kansas to six wins within the Iowa Sprint Season. In form, Burks also captured six heat race victories along the season. With his worst finishing spot, of the entire Iowa Sprint Car League season, would be a placing third in a heat race early in the year.

Burks would lay claim to multiple wins all over the country in 2019, including one win at Lake Ozark Speedway that tied Wyatt for second in all-time wins within POWRi WAR competition, marking his career total to eight wins since 2014. Racking up a total of nine feature wins in 2019 between the Iowa Sprint League, POWRi WAR Sprint League, and other feature racing in Texas and Oklahoma.

Slated for another successful run in 2020, with a heartfelt story-line heading into the season will be when POWRi Lucas Oil WAR Sprint League ventures into Wyatt’s home-turf at Heartland Motorsports Park in Topeka, Kansas. Set to compete in all HPT events against Wyatt, in their own back-up feature-winning car, will be Danny Billings. The Billings and Burks connection goes back years as not only does Danny direct Wyatt daily as his boss, but Billings also built Burks his first-ever car all those years ago when Wyatt was first starting his racing career.

Can Burks continue his winning ways with the POWRi Lucas Oil Iowa Sprint Car League and POWRi Lucas Oil WAR Sprint League in 2020? As the season draws near and drivers are busy finalizing their 2020 race-season plans, so many questions are raised with the only answers coming from the racing surface.
