FREWALDT TAKES FIRST POWRI ALLSTAR MIDGET WIN

FREWALDT TAKES FIRST POWRI ALLSTAR MIDGET WIN

Grain Valley, MO (May 20, 2017) - Saturday night at Valley Speedway Chad Frewaldt bested Pat Schudy, Chad Winfrey, Dustin Gilbert, and Broc Hunnell, for the win in race number three for the POWRi Lucas Oil Allstar Midget League in 2017. The veteran Kansas City racer passed Schudy after the two-time champion led from his front row starting spot during the first third of the race. Once in the lead, Frewaldt powered to the win.

Rough and gummy conditions brought on by pounding rain storms earlier in the week kept drivers on the on their toes throughout much of the event. Schudy, drove majority of the race with a broken Panhard rod mount, which made his 7S machine a hand full. Third place Chad Winfrey kept popping wheelies from the gummy conditions. Leader Frewaldt found himself driving carefully once securing the lead from Schudy due to the tricky conditions.

Frewaldt had been close to victory several times before racing with POWRi Allstar Midgets. In 2016 the Kansas City chauffeur finished second to Riley Kreisel at the "King of Kansas City" race after a spirited battle with Don Droud Jr. at Valley. But tonight the veteran driver of midgets and sprints would not be denied. Earlier in the evening, preliminary races went to Schudy from sixth starting spot in the first heat, and Chad Winfrey in the second heat race. The POWRi Allstar Midgets return to action Sunday, May 28 at CMS Speedway. The race will be the first of three shows at the Warrensburg, Missouri, oval in 2017.
