It was a great Birthday Celebration for Darren Gilbert Friday night at Valley Speedway. First older son Dustin won his heat race in POWRi Valley Outlaw Midget Action. And then younger son A.J. took the night cap winning the Midget feature to celebrate Father Darren’s 54th Birthday in style. Coby Pearce was unstoppable Saturday night at El Paso County Raceway in Calhan, Colorado, as he dominated the competition winning both his heat race and the feature win. Pearce, who hales from Golden, Colorado started from the pole position and never looked back earning over $500 in cash and merchandise. 18 POWRi RMLSA Lightning Sprints made the trip down to Calhan Colorado’s El Paso County Raceway, and were treated to a beautiful day and a great track surface. The racy 1/4 mile oval was recently revived with a lot of new clay. 3 heat races were run, and won by #0 BJ Sauer, #9F Andy Flood and #61 Jesse Fernandez.
