Travis Oldfield Attains First Feature Victory with POWRi NMMRA/Vado Non-Wing Sprints

Belleville, IL. (5/14/23) Vado Speedway Park would welcome the Sunset Grill POWRi Vado Non-Wing Sprints running in conjunction with the POWRi New Mexico Motor Racing Association as Travis Oldfield would hold steady in the feature event to claim his career first feature win within the series.

Flying onto the smooth surface of Vado for night four of the 2023 season would find Shon Deskins set hot-lap quick-time with a 19.215/second lap as Travis Oldfield and Spencer Hill would earn the heat race wins with Oldfield pocketing the event high-point qualifier honor.

Going green with Travis Oldfield on the inside and Spencer Hill on the outside of the front row, Spencer Hill would appear to be the top talent early in the feature by grabbing the front of the field and leading the first twenty laps until a late-race issue would take Hill from the competition.

Bunching the pack back together after restarting from a caution, Travis Oldfield would hold the point for the final revolutions to gain his first series win of the season as well as notching his inaugural career series victory. Fourth-starting Don Grable would race a close runner-up battle as eighth-starting JR Bonesteel hard-charged within reach to finish third.

Seventh-starting Michael Fanelli would place fourth as Jason Ziehl would round out the top-five finishers for the POWRi New Mexico Motor Racing Association in conjunction with the Sunset Grill POWRi Vado Non-Wing Sprints at Vado Speedway Park on Saturday.
