About Buddy

Midgets are a passion, Buddy Luebke's passion. Buddy has never wanted to do anything else than race. It all started while growing up. Buddy had three uncles racing midgets at Angell Park Speedway. He enjoyed traveling the USAC circuit with his uncle, Tom. As soon as school let out in the spring he would start traveling with his uncle around the country, who at the time raced midgets, sprint cars, dirt champ cars, and INDY cars. When fall rolled around and school started up, Buddy's parents would have to drag him right back home till spring came again.

After graduating high school Buddy moved to Indiana to start his own career in racing. He returned to Wisconsin to race open wheel, midgets, at Angell Park Speedway after racing for three years in local Motocross races and IMCA modified series in Indiana.

Buddy stuck with driving the only open wheel car in Wisconsin without a wing, the midget. Buddy says that driving midgets are fun, but challenging, to drive. Wing cars are just not his cup of tea. You will rarely see him racing a wing car. He has raced a few sprint cars before. The first time he ever drove a 410 winged sprint car was on the pavement in the Wisconsin Dells. While in 13th spot the engine over heated.

Having a great start on August 23rd, Buddy took first in his heat. Starting in the feature in ninetieth and working his way up to eleventh place by the end. But ending the night with a slight flip caused by no space to get around the driver ahead. There was minor damage to the car and Buddy had no injury.

Ending the 2015 season at Angell Park Speedway, Buddy took third place in points with 314 points. Again, taking first in his heat along with taking eighth in the feature and starting in fifth. Throughout the season Buddy improved his racing skills and never let a problem stand in his way thanks to the help of his crew members; Lloydy, Grumpy, and Roger.

Lloydy and Grumpy are pretty much family to Buddy. They're always in the shop helping with the midget. Along with being at just about every single race to help out with the car, or just to make others around laugh. Either way they're always a huge help and help to make a big difference throughout the racing season. As soon as there's a problem with the car they're right there doing whatever they can in the time they have to fix it. They know just about everything about midgets and are great at helping not only Buddy, but other drives as well to get better at what they're doing.
