Grant Sexton Secures POWRi SWLS Feature Win at Barona Speedway

Belleville, IL. (9/19/2021) Hitting the smooth racing surfaces of their home-territory of Barona Speedway for the first time in over a month, the Lucas Oil POWRi Southwest Lightning Sprints would find speed all evening with fast lap times and battles for nearly every position. Point leader Grant Sexton would extend his advantage at the top by flexing his driving might and gaining his fourth victory of the 2021 season.

Heat racing battles would find Grant Sexton, Brent Sexton, and Braden Chiaramonte each winning the early on-track actions. Rudy Padilla and Peter Benker would benefit from an intermission re-draw, placing each driver on the front-row for the twenty-lap feature event.

Rookie sensation Braden Chiaramonte would hound the leading Grant all event from starting fifth only to settle into the runner-up finishing spot with previous event’s winner Brent Sexton placing third.

Matt Sotomayor would hold solid, continuing to impress in his rookie campaign, placing fourth with David Bezio rounding out the top-five finishers for the Lucas Oil POWRi Southwest Lightning Sprints at Barona Speedway.
