Bobby Layne Victorious at Central Missouri Speedway with POWRi MLS

Belleville, IL. (9/6/2021) Scheduled to compete in a two-day holiday weekend event at Central Missouri Speedway, the Lucas Oil POWRi Midwest Lightning Sprints would be relegated to only one night of competition after Mother Nature would win Night One. Hitting the smooth and speedy track on Sunday would see Bobby Layne continue his winning ways earning his fifth series win of the season while extending his overall season points lead in the championship.

Heat racing action would find Tyler Johnson and Bobby Layne gaining the early on-track advantages with Johnson and Mark Billings earning front-row feature starting spots.

Fast-paced feature racing found Bobby Layne quickly establish speed from a third starting position, with Layne flying to the front in the opening laps. Mark Billings would hang tight with Layne for most of the race challenging for the lead at times only for Layne to remain unfazed.

Repeating in the previous week’s accolades, Bobby Layne would again claim the feature event win with a precise driving line while notching his nineteenth POWRi MLS feature victory in the previous six seasons. Mark Billings and Chase Fischer battled until the final checkers were waved for the runner-up spot with Billings gaining the position leaving Fischer to finish third.

Keeping consistency flowing, rookie contender Trice Roden continues to improve and impress by notching a solid fourth-place finish and gaining the hard-charger award while bypassing four other competitors. Pole-sitter and front-runner Tyler Johnson would fade in the later stages of the feature to round out the Lucas Oil POWRi Midwest Lightning Sprints top-five finishers at Central Missouri Speedway.
