Belleville, IL. (06/22/2021) Sixteen-year-old Grant Sexton extended his streak of recent domination within the Lucas Oil POWRi Southwest Lightning Sprint Car Series after coasting to his third consecutive feature victory at Barona Speedway leading every lap of the most recent event. Gaining momentum as the final stretch of the chase for the championship approaches, Grant Sexton remains atop the season standings going into the next race at Barona Speedway on Saturday, June 26th, this time around going wingless for the SLWS.
After picking up the previous feature victory, Sexton was able to extend his point’s advantage to 91 points in the standings over David Bezio as the summer months loom. Rookies Sotomayor and Chiaramonte are fourth and fifth with Parker Dumas rounding out the current season standings for the Lucas Oil POWRi Southwest Lightning Sprints. Will Sexton maintain the top of the championship standings, or will another driver mount a charge to the pinnacle?
