Alex Truscinski Gets First Win in POWRi MKLS 2021 Season

Belleville, IL. (06/14/2021) In a rare one-event weekend, the Lucas Oil POWRi Minn-Kota Lightning Sprints would travel to Devils Lake Speedway in Crary North Dakota with a solid showing of entries and on-track action. When the final checkers were displayed, Alex Truscinski would grab his first series win of the season.

Grabbing heat race victories would find Alex Truscinski and Cody Swenson drive from deep in the starting field to notch their respective early victories. With Swenson earning a pole-starting spot and Dexter Dvergsten lined up on the outside, the field of hungry POWRi MKLS competitors to the initial start.
Launching out to the early feature racing advantage would see series front-runner Dexter Dvergsten hold the lead with Swenson keeping pace. Staying clean and green for the majority of feature racing laps Dvergsten would seem to be on a rail until late-race dramatics would come into play.

With Dexter leading and lap-traffic running similar times and racing lines, the leading Dvergsten would struggle to separate himself from the fast-charging Alex Truscinski. Truscinski would use the back marker as sort of a pick to take the lead and never relinquish the prized position with Dvergsten holding on to finish second. Cody Swenson would stay in the mix for the front all-event placing third as hard-charging Travis Surerus would move up ten positions during racing action to finish fourth. Bryce Haugeberg would also stay within striking distance the entire night, rounding out the POWRi Minn-Kota Lightning Sprints top-five finishers at Devils Lake Speedway.

Next up for the Lucas Oil POWRi Minn-Kota Lightning Sprints will be a two-day northerly swing, first with a stop at Norman County Raceway on Thursday, June 17th, then on Saturday, June 19th the series will return to Devils Lake Speedway. Pit gates open at 2:00 PM with grandstands opening at 4:00 PM. Hot laps are slated to start at 6:30 PM with great racing action to follow.
