Lorne Wofford Lands POWRi Vado Super Sprint Feature Win

Lorne Wofford Lands POWRi Vado Super Sprint Feature Win

Belleville, IL. (05/03/2021) State-of-the-Art Vado Speedway Park would be back in racing action with the Anthony and Chaparral Hot City Night’s promotion. With five divisions of on-track excitement slated, the Lucas Oil POWRi Vado Super Sprints would highlight the docket as Lorne Wofford of Alamogordo, New Mexico was able to capture the feature victory.

After the early action of Mike Archuleta, Lorne Wofford, and Vance Wofford win a trio of tight-quarters heat races, Archuleta would earn the pole for the night’s 305-Winged Sprint Car feature event. Taking the lead on the start, the speedy Archuleta would quickly establish the fastest running line with third-starting Lorne Wofford in tow.

Stalking the leader, Wofford would use a slingshot maneuver to speed past Archuleta into the top spot never looking back to his first Vado Super Sprint feature win of the young 2021 season. With Lorne out front, his sons Wes and Vance raced into the second and third spots early in the competition, trying to give chase only to see their father Lorne was up to the challenge and lead every lap on his way to Western Tech victory lane.

Wes Wofford would continue an outstanding feature to place in the runner-up position as ninth starting CJ Hulsey used hard-charging forward momentum to grab third late in the race. Vance Wofford would finish fourth as Rick Ziehl rounded out the Lucas Oil POWRi Vado Super Sprint feature’s top five finishers.
