Belleville, IL. (05/03/2021) Barona Speedway would host the Lucas Oil POWRi Southwest Lightning Sprints for their annual Battle at B-Town on Saturday, May 1st as drivers from California tested their talents on the bustling bullring. After a phenomenal feature event, Grant Sexton of Lakeside California would hold steady out front notching his series-leading third feature victory.
With early heat racing action witnessing Dalton Sexton, Parker Dumas, and Matt Sotomayer grab the early wins, an intermission redraw would shuffle the front of the field for the feature starting grid. An all-Sexton front row comprised of Grant and Dalton would lead the pack of POWRi SWLS to the start of their main event with pole-sitter Grant gaining the quick advantage.
The 2019 POWRi Lightning Sprint Nationals Night One winner Grant would not let go of his leadership for the duration of the event, leading every lap of feature racing action. With the younger Sexton Racing member out front, Dalton would guard the runner-up positioning with feature winner in 2020 David Bezio finishing third. Parker Dumas placed in a very close battle with DJ Dumas with Parker fourth and DJ rounding out the feature’s top-five.
