Belleville, IL. (11/19/2020) With the cancelation earlier in the week of the POWRi Winter Nationals Quarter Midget’s annual event held in Las Vegas Nevada, due to ongoing gathering restrictions. Tucson Quarter Midget Association, working with the Valley of the Sun Quarter Midget Association, has stepped up to offer a great alternative to the yearly Thanksgiving race weekend, with the I-10 Turkey Showdown.
November 24th through November 28th, Marana Arizona will be flocked by drivers from all over as they embark on a four-day journey of quarter midget racing. Social Distancing will be required with masks mandatory for all event entrants. Registrations are open at www.vsqma.com with over eighty drivers already throwing their names into the list of competitors. First, on Tuesday, November 24th and Wednesday, November 25th entrants will see parking and track preparations encompass most of the day with safety inspection scheduled throughout the afternoon. Thursday, November 26th will see open-practice sessions lasting from 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, Sign-In and Pill-Draw will be from 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM. If competitors cannot be present for pill-draw, please contact a club representative before the cut-off. Drivers who missed Sign-Ins, Pill-Draw, or Tech are required to attend Friday’s Pit-Meeting prior to competing.
Friday, November 27th will see an action-packed day of quarter-midget racing with Heat’s, Qualifiers, and Lower Main’s on the docket with time permitting. On-Track battles begin at 9:00 AM, pit-meeting will be held before racing at 8:00 AM.
Then, the event wraps up on Saturday, November 28th with the conclusion of the lower-mains, if needed, and the ever-important A-Mains, pit-meeting starts at 8:00 AM with the track action beginning at 9:00 AM.
