Jacksonville and Spoon River on the Weekend’s Agenda for POWRi Leagues

Belleville, IL. (09/09/2020) Heading back to the state of Illinois this weekend, a couple of first-class memorial races are on slatted for the POWRi Lucas Oil National Midget League, as well as one event with the POWRi Engler Machine & Tool 600cc Outlaw Micros.

Friday, September 11 POWRi National Midget and POWRi Engler Machine & Tool 600cc Outlaw Micro teams will travel to Jacksonville Speedway in Jacksonville, IL. As one of the best bullrings in America, the ¼ mile high banked oval located on the Morgan County Fairgrounds, will host the annual Herb Barlow Memorial with many drivers anticipating this race-date. Classes scheduled for the competition include the POWRi Lucas Oil National Midget League, the POWRi Engler Machine and Tool 600cc Outlaw Micro’s, the MOWA Sprints, and 305 Sprints making this an all open-wheel event that’s fun for the whole family.

Jacksonville Speedway’s Pit Gates will open at 2 PM with grandstands open at 5 PM. Driver’s Registration will be from 3:30-5:30 PM with Driver’s Meeting will be at 6 PM. Hot Laps are slotted for 6:30 PM start with racing action to follow. General Admission tickets available at the track or advanced tickets can be purchased online at https://jacksonvillespeedway.com/product/friday-september-11th-ticket-herb-barlow-memorial.

Then, on Saturday, September 12th the POWRi Lucas Oil National Midget League will travel down to the extremely fast and high-banked 3/8-mile clay of Spoon River Speedway in Canton, IL for the Tom Knowles Memorial.

Classes competing in this event include the POWRi National Midget League and Midwest Open Wheel Association 410 Wing Sprints.
Saturday, September 12th Spoon River Speedway’s pit gates will open at 2 PM, Driver’s Registration scheduled 3-5 PM. Driver’s Meeting will be held at 5:30 with Hot Laps at 6 PM as great racing action will follow.

Going into the weekend with only a handful of races left on the 2020 season schedule for the POWRi Lucas Oil National Midget League, Jake Neuman remains the current point leader by racking up a win and proving consistency pays off. With just a few races left and 500 points back, series frontrunner Zach Daum remains ready for a late season push of points. Very much in the battle for a championship, Ace McCarthy rounds out the podium of points contenders only trailing the second position by a mere ten points.

As for the POWRi Engler Machine & Tool 600cc Micro Sprint Series, the lone race at Jacksonville Speedway this Friday, September 11th will make just the tenth event in a shortened season. Harley Hollan of Tulsa, OK rests atop the season standings with Joe B Miller following along in the second position 110 points behind Hollan. This Friday’s race will be crucial in the championship picture with only three races remaining on the 2020 race schedule.
