Belleville, IL. (08/18/2020) A fan favorite from Tahlequah, OK. Ace McCarthy is looking to close up the points battle between him and old teammate, Jake Neuman this weekend at Illinois SPEED Weekend. At the beginning of the 2019 race season, Jim Neuman Racing of New Berlin, Illinois added a new combatant in Oklahoma’s Ace McCarthy.
McCarthy picked up his first career POWRi West triumph in September of 2017 at I-30 Speedway in Arkansas, then followed that with another victory in April 2018 at Red Dirt Raceway in Oklahoma. Ace would grab his first POWRi National League Victory on July 2018 at Valley Speedway. McCarthy found unimaginable amounts of speed with the Jim Neuman Racing team and ended off on a good note. McCarthy joined the Dave Mac Motorsports team in the #28 National midget at the beginning of the 2020 race season, traveling with all Midget series to gain speed and knowledge.
McCarthy has found himself adding two wins to his belt, which both came back-to-back at Grain Valley Speedway in Grain Valley, MO. the 2020 race season has been cut short due to COVID-19 but Ace has come out of the gate in full force. Ace has three top five finishes and 7 top ten finished in 12 appearances with POWRi. McCarthy is looking ahead to a three-day race weekend. With only sitting 240 points behind the POWRi Lucas Oil National Midget League points leader, Jake Neuman, McCarthy has a good chance to capitalize and take over the points lead.
This weekend the POWRi National Midget League will kick off a three-day race weekend at Lincoln Speedway in Lincoln, IL. on Friday, August 21. Then will head to the “Mighty Macon” Speedway in Macon, IL. to battle on Saturday, August 22. POWRi Lucas Oil National Midget League will finish the SPEED Weekend at Jacksonville Speedway in Jacksonville, IL. on Sunday, August 23.
