Belleville, IL (08/17/2020) Competing in their fourth event of the 2020 racing season the POWRi Lucas Oil New Mexico Racing Association would once again head to their home-turf running grounds of Sandia Speedway in Albuquerque, New Mexico with side-by-side action throughout the fierce pack of 360 non-wing sprinters. After twenty-five laps of high-octane and battles for nearly every position, Don Grable would wire the field by leading every lap on his way to the night’s top spot.
Pacing the pack for feature action on the three-eighths-mile oval of Sandia Speedway, Don Grable #45x and JR Bonesteel #0 would make up the front row on the initial start. Entering the first couple of corners Grable would earn the edge and not look back on his way to the checkered flag first. In an intensely contested dual for second, Robert Marfia #24 and Bonesteel would swap spots several times throughout the event with Marfia separating himself in the later stages to place in the runner-up positioning with Bonesteel rounding out the podium. Flying through the field Spencer Hill #11w, who started sixth, and Clint Miller #58, starting tenth, would impress those of that are fans of passing with Hill placing fourth and Miller earning the hard-charger award getting by five other drivers to place fifth.
Next on the schedule for the POWRi Lucas Oil New Mexico Motor Racing Association will be a return trip to their home track of Sandia Speedway in Albuquerque, New Mexico on Saturday, August 29th. Pit Gates open at 4 PM, with Hot Laps scheduled for 6 PM, and racing action to follow.
