POWRi Minn-Kota Lightning Sprints Heading Back to River Cities Speedway

Belleville, IL (08/11/2020) Hitting the ground running in their inaugural season under the POWRi sanctioning banner the POWRi Lucas Oil Minn-Kota Lightning Sprint Series has completed fifteen close finishing events so far in this unprecedented 2020 racing season. Heading into the sixteenth race this year for the MKLS, many storylines have surfaced adding to the excitement on Friday, August 14th at River Cities Speedway in Grand Forks, North Dakota.

Witnessing four different feature winners so far in racing action, Kelsi Pederson and Dexter Dvergsten are currently tied for the most series victories at five wins apiece. Alex Truscinski is hot on their heels, accumulating four victories this season as young driver Bryce Haugeberg picked up a feature win as well.

Championship point’s racing is about as close as the feature finishes have been so far this race season with Kelsi Pederson holding a slight advantage atop the season standings. Pederson may have the lead but right behind her, well within striking distance, only six-point back finds Dexter Dvergsten.

Running third in points finds Alan Truscinski who, also very much in the hunt for a championship, is showing that consistency pay’s off by only being eight points shy of Pederson and only two back from Dvergsten. With only seventy-one points separating the top-five in the standings will anyone be able to break from the pack or will the championship quest come down to the line with the POWRi Lucas Oil Minn-Kota Lightning Sprints.

POWRi Lucas Oil Minn-Kota Lightning Sprint Current Points Standings:
Kelsi Pederson 775
Dexter Dvergsten 769
