POWRi Sprint Leagues to Make Inaugural Trip to Adams County Speedway

Belleville, IL. (06/16/2020) POWRi Lucas Oil WAR and Iowa Sprint Leagues will venture to uncharted territory on Saturday, June 20th with the first-ever visit to Adams County Speedway. Located on the outskirts of Corning, Iowa, the picturesque half-mile dirt-oval will see traditional sprinters from near-and-far try to tame this tricky track, with $1,500 going to the top competitor.

Returning to the “Hawkeye State” for the second straight week the POWRi Lucas Oil WAR Sprint League will once again join forces with the POWRi Iowa Sprints for more epic side-by-side co-sanctioned racing. Pit gates are set to open at 2 pm with driver’s registration scheduled from 3-6 pm at the POWRi trailer. General admission begins at 5 pm with Hot-Laps starting at 6:30 pm, racing action to follow.

Variety has been the common theme with four events completed in the altered 2020 POWRi WAR racing season, as four different drivers have notched wins in thrilling fashion. Mario Clouser would kick off the season in style, earning his third career POWRi WAR victory, winning night one at Valley Speedway. Shane Cottle would find the low-line to his liking on night two of Valley’s “Mid-State Open Wheel Nationals” with Cottle earning his first career POWRi WAR win. Co-sanctioned with the POWRi Iowa Sprint League, Chris Windom would ride the high side to perfection in Donnellson, Iowa, winning his sixth career series feature event. Keeping the trend of adding career wins, Riley Kreisel continues to climb the all-time win list gaining his seventh career victory in the POWRi WAR Sprint Leagues third visit to Valley Speedway this race season.

POWRi Lucas Oil WAR Sprint League Championship point’s battle remains close for the top position, with only ten points separating the top two contenders. Defending two-time champion Riley Kreisel #91 currently rest atop the standings entering the fifth event of competition, with Jack Wagner #77 hot on his heels in the runner-up position. Mario Clouser #6, Wyatt Burks #11w, and Kory Schudy #28 round out the stout top five field of drivers all vying for championship honors.

POWRi is currently working on revising July and August events with updates upcoming.
