Belleville, IL. (05/30/2020) A stacked field of forty-one POWRi Engler Machine and Tool 600cc Outlaw Micro Sprint League competitors would file into the pits at I-44 Riverside Speedway for the first night of racing action for the Seventh Annual Turnpike Challenge. With battles for positions all over the multi-grooved racing surface, the familiar face of #51b Joe B. Miller would end the feature riding the high line to the checkers first.
As the teams fired off turn four from the initial start it was pole-sitter #5F Michael Faccinto that was able to capture the early lead, only to see #12T Trey Robb wheel his way to the front through turns 1+2. Robb would hold the field advantage for most of the feature until a late-race caution bunching the field mixed with the hard running effort of Joe B. Miller #51b around the outside in turn 4 would see a new leader at the line. Miller would hold off all challenges on his way to claiming his league-leading 39th career POWRi Engler Machine and Tool 600cc Outlaw Micro Sprint feature event. Robb would hold on to finish in a close second place as early leader Faccinto would round out the night’s podium. Jake Hagopian #88x would charge through the pack from an eleventh starting spot to claim the fourth position as #21H Brady Bacon came home finishing fifth.
