MILAN GRABS FIRST-CAREER WIN WITH POWRI MICROS AT JACKSONVILLE

MILAN GRABS FIRST-CAREER WIN WITH POWRI MICROS AT JACKSONVILLE

JACKSONVILLE, ILL. (October 10, 2019) – Scotty Milan of Fort Collins, Colo. was not to be denied on Saturday night at Jacksonville Speedway, leading all 20 laps of the main event and cashing in for his first-career victory with the POWRi Engler Machine & Tool Outlaw Micro League.

Earning Bell Helmets #HighPointMan honors, Milan put his No. 97 on the pole position thanks to a masterful seventh-to-first drive to win the opening Lightning Wings heat race. Chad Elliott, who broke through for his first-career win at Macon Speedway in September, took the win from third in the second Driven Midwest heat race.

Come feature time, Milan brought the field to life with two-time POWRi Micro champion, Joe B. Miller, to his outside. Winning the race into turn one, Milan would run unchallenged from there, controlling all 20 laps and jetting away to a victorious first-career feature win with the POWRi Engler Machine & Tool Outlaw Micro League.

Joe B. Miller, who has mentored Milan all season long, followed his prodigy to the finish line with a second-place effort in the Speed Shack Performance No. 51B. Gunner Ramey of Sedalia, Mo. held steady on his championship lead as he rounded out the podium in the Driven Midwest No. 14G.

Jacob Tipton and Luke Veradi closed out the top five, while also finishing inside the top ten was Trevin Littleton in sixth, Harley Hollan in seventh, Bryant Wiedeman in eighth, Kurt Westerfield in ninth and Daryn Stark in tenth.

The POWRi Engler Machine & Tool Outlaw Micro League returns to action this weekend with a Saturday, October 12 race at Southern Illinois Raceway followed by a Sunday, October 13 showing at Belle-Clair Speedway. If you can’t make it, Speed Shift TV will have LIVE coverage of both nights.
