Boos 5th POWRi RMLSA WIN

18 POWRi RMLSA Lightning Sprints made the trip down to Calhan Colorado’s El Paso County Raceway, and were treated to a beautiful day and a great track surface.

The racy 1/4 mile oval was recently revived with a lot of new clay. 3 heat races were run, and won by #0 BJ Sauer, #9F Andy Flood and #61 Jesse Fernandez. The feature was a great race starting out with the #3J driven by Joel Mellon taking the lead.

A yellow flag on lap 3 regrouped the field with the #39x Dakota Dillin close behind the leader Mellon. As the race reached the halfway point, a red flag was thrown for the flipped #9F Andy Flood. He was okay and rejoined the field with a bent up wing.

After the restart #24B Johnny Boos took over the lead, but sneaking up from his 13th starting spot #26 Chris Crowder took over second nearly catching Boos. This was Boos 5th win in the ten races this year. #26 Chris Crowder with a close second, Third place was #3J Joel Mellon, with #1 Troy Ullery and #32 Blair Cooper rounding out the top 5.

The remainder of the finishing order was #86 Jenn Woods, #7 Josh Flood, #31 Steve Becker, #9F Andy Flood, #61B Lance Bennett, #61 Jesse Fernandez, #57E Steve Estrada, #0 BJ Sauer, ##39x Dakota Dillin #13 Josiah King, #82 Jason Woods. We return to El Paso County Raceway again in two weeks on August 24th. See you there.
