BOWERS SHINES BRIGHT IN MLS WIN AT LAKE OZARK

ELDON, MO. (July 30, 2019) – Winning Saturday’s showdown at Lake Ozark Speedway, Kenny Bowers of Olathe, Kansas earned his second triumph of the season and joined four-time winner, Kyle Lewis, as the only two multi-time winners with the POWRi Lucas Oil Midwest Lightning Sprint League in 2019.

Bobby Layne of Kansas City, Mo., Kyle Lewis of Spring Hill, Kans., and Mark Billings of Kansas City, Mo. topped heat race action over the season-high 18-car field.

Kenny Bowers earned his second win of the year in the main event, besting a top five that included Mark Billings in second, Bobby Layne in third, Stanley Kreisel in fourth and Tom Brown in fifth.

After this weekend, Bobby Layne holds a 206-point advantage over Kyle Lewis in the chase for the championship. Trailing Layne and Lewis with their own title hopes is Kenny Bowers (-264), Jeff Bard (-318) and Alex Davis (-498).

The next race for the POWRi Lucas Oil Midwest Lightning Sprint League is a Saturday, August 3 trip to I-35 Speedway in Winston, Missouri.
