The POWRi Midwest Lightning Sprints were at I-35 Speedway Sat night for our 2nd night of the Mid-Season Championship weekend. The Mid Season Championship weekend sponsors are Country Kids Day Care, Layne Machine, Anthony’s Chimney Sweeps, Lowery Legal, and Miller Farms. Also, a BIG thank you goes out to our sponsors for 2019, Racing Boys, Rod End Supply and Oskvig Accounting.

Bobby and Tyler Johnson brought the cars to the green. Stanley got by Tyler and was running beside Bobby on the first lap. The second lap proved that proved that Stanley, driving Chris Schofield’s car was going to be the guy to beat as he took control of the first spot. Kyle Lewis was battling with Tyler and Kenny for 3rd. Kyle would finally make the pass on Tyler and go after Bobby. Stanley was pulling away from the field. Kenny would get by Tyler for 4th. 13th starting Mark Billings was now making his way to the front. Even though Bobby and Kyle would have a great race for 2nd Bobby was able to hold off the challenge. Stanley would win his 1st POWRi Lightning Sprint Feature, Bobby 2nd, Kyle 3rd, Mark 4th and Kenny 5th.

The Midwest Lighting Sprints next race is on Sat night July 20th at I-35 Speedway in Winston, MO. The racing in the Midwest Lightning Sprints is fiercely competitive. With low cost maintenance and motorcycle power, this is still the most economical way to go fast in a race car. These cars are almost 2 seconds a lap faster than an A Mod or a Late Model. New drivers/cars are coming out each week. Contact the MLS for info.
