MILLER STRIKES FOR 35TH-CAREER POWRI MICRO WIN

MILLER STRIKES FOR 35TH-CAREER POWRI MICRO WIN

GRAIN VALLEY, MO. (July 12, 2019) – Extending his record as the all-time winningest driver in POWRi Engler Machine & Tool Outlaw Micro League history, Joe B. Miller of Millersville, Mo. won his 35th-career feature on Friday at Valley Speedway. Topping the opening night of “Thunder in the Valley,” Miller rocketed by Frank Galusha on the tenth circuit and checked away for a dominating win aboard the Hyper Racing No. 51B.

With a strong group of 24 entries on hand, the field split into a trio of heat races won by Jackson Frisbie (Driven Midwest Heat One), Joe B. Miller (Lightning Wings Heat Two) and Frank Galusha (Schure Built Suspensions Heat Three). Advancing from fifth-to-first in the final heat, Galusha of Lincoln, Neb. Earned Bell Racing HQ High Point Man honors.

Starting from the pole, Galusha immediately took command of the lead and looked to run away, however, a string of early cautions kept his No. 12 at bay. Taking advantage of a restart, Miller stormed into the second spot and shortly tracked down Galusha as the battle for the lead intensified.

Diving underneath him down the backstretch, Miller grabbed the top spot only for Galusha to launch an attack right back at him, throwing a slider into turn three in hopes of thwarting Miller’s momentum. However, Miller crossed him up and shot the No. 51B to the bottom and drove back by to lead the tenth circuit.

From there, Miller encountered several swarms of lap traffic, but none could slow him down as the former league champion rode off into the sunset to score his 35th-career POWRi Engler Machine & Tool Outlaw Micro League victory on the opening night of “Thunder in the Valley” at Valley Speedway.

Trailing Miller to the finish line was Frank Galusha with a close second-place finish, Riley Goodno of Knoxville, Iowa with a solid third-place run, Harley Hollan of Tulsa, Okla. in the fourth spot, and Gunner Ramey of Sedalia, Mo. rounded out the top five.

The POWRi Engler Machine & Tool Outlaw Micros are back at Valley Speedway tomorrow Saturday, July 13 for another round of “Thunder in the Valley” alongside the POWRi Lucas Oil National / West Midgets. If you can’t make it, watch LIVE on www.speedshifttv.com.
