Grundy County Speedway will be hosting the Burdette Carter Classic and Veterans Night July 6, 2019. It is part of the Grundy County Fair racing program and it has been a tradition that the midgets run during the Fair dates....a tradition that has lasted many years!
The POWRi midgets will be running the National-style engines and the Production-style motors at the same time.....or.....two races in one! We run this way as we are developing the series and increasing the car count. Additional money will be added to the Production Based Motor (PBM) purse by T1 Racing of Wilmington, Illinois, http://www.t1racing.net.
A $150.00 certificate will be given as the Hard Luck award for T1 chassis dyno time. Heroes West Sports Grill, http://www.heroeswest.net, will be giving away a Hoosier tire to a lucky driver who is entered in the race. Plus, we will have more giveaways from our sponsor Heroes West and from Lucas Oil Products, a POWRi sponsor.
POWRi will be doing free temporary memberships race night. We are trying to build the midget pavement racing back to its past popularity.
