TULSA, Okla. (February 21, 2019) - In just 16 days cars will hit the track for the first time in 2019 as Open Practice is set for Saturday, March 9 at Port City Raceway located just outside Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Just five days following the first open practice of the season, the first race of 2019 will get the green flag as Terry Mattox Promotions presents the Oil Capital Clash III and 2nd Annual Terry Walker Memorial featuring the Lucas Oil NOW600 National Series presented by Tel-Star Technologies.

The three day extravaganza of 600cc Micro Sprint racing will begin on Thursday, March 14 and will run through Saturday, March 16. Not only will the NOW600 National Series classes be in action, but Sportsman and Junior Sprints will also be featured during all three nights with the 600cc Modifieds making their first ever appearance on Saturday, March 16.

More information on the Oil Capital Clash can be found at www.now600series.com.

On Sunday, March 24 the POWRi Lucas Oil National and West Midget Leagues along with the POWRi Speedway Motors 600cc Outlaw Micro League will return to the Port City Raceway for the 6th Annual Turnpike Challenge.

In previous years, Christopher Bell has dominated all but one of the Turnpike Challenge finales. The one he didn’t win was because he wasn’t in attendance due to a scheduling conflict within his NASCAR schedule. That year, 2016, Jason McDougal took the victory. Matt Sherrell took the prelim night victory in 2016.

The Turnpike Challenge will kick off on Thursday, March 21 at Creek County Speedway in Sapulpa, Oklahoma followed by two nights at Oklahoma City's I-44 Riverside Speedway on Friday-Saturday, March 22 and 23 before making their final stop at Port City Raceway on Sunday, March 24.

More information on the Turnpike Challenge can be found at www.powri.com.

Being ran during the summer months in years past, the Donnie Ray Crawford Memorial has been moved up and has replaced the Spring Fling. The eighth annual event will take place on Friday-Saturday, March 29 and 30 at Port City Raceway.

Entry Fee for the event is $55 for all classes. On Saturday night the Outlaw class will race for $1,000 to win. Non-Wing and A-Class will compete for $600 to win. $400 is on the line for the Sportsman and Restricted divisions while the Junior Sprints race for $250 top prize.

More information on the Donnie Ray Crawford Memorial race can be found closer to time at www.portcityraceway.net.

Established in 1974, Port City Raceway has been bringing high octane excitement to race fans every Saturday night. PCR Championship Cup events feature six classes of Micro Sprints. Classes include: Winged Outlaw, Stock Non-Wing, Winged A-Class, Sportsman, Restricted 'A' Class and Junior Sprints.
