BELLEVILLE, IL. (February 14, 2019) – Performance Open Wheel Racing, Inc. (POWRi), an already established midget racing powerhouse, is proud to announce the addition of some west coast flavor to the brand as a partnership with the Bay Cities Racing Association (BCRA) has been formed. The BCRA group will be rebranded as the POWRi BCRA Lucas Oil Midget Series.
Founded in 1939, the Bay Cities Racing Association has a rich and flavorful history of midget racing in the “Golden State” of California. For eight decades, the BCRA has been giving drivers a proving ground and giving fans the thrilling races they crave, be it on the dirt tracks or on the pavement surfaces.
This partnership will serve as the doorway to bigger and better things for BCRA, with a handful of benefits coming their way. They will receive a hand in restructuring and reorganizing the series, along with increased payout purses for the racers. Their dirt schedule will grow exponentially, and the BCRA marketing and social media management will be strengthened in the process.
As the largest midget racing organization in North America, POWRi, based out of Belleville, Illinois, now supports the POWRi Lucas Oil National Midget League, the POWRi Lucas Oil West Midget League, the POWRi Lucas Oil Rocky Mountain Midget series, and the POWRi BCRA Lucas Oil Midget Series.
“The addition of BCRA to the POWRi brand is a big step for us in expanding outside of the Midwest,” noted POWRi League Director, Jason McCord. “Moving into California, this will allow us across the board to begin exploring options such as increasing point funds and creating more national television opportunities.”
