Jacksonville, IL – After suffering two difficult nights in a row, Joe B. Miller rebounded, taking the victory with the POWRi Speedway Motors 600cc Outlaw Micro League at Jacksonville Speedway. Miller’s win was the sixth of his POWRi Illinois SPEED Week career, and Miller is the third different driver to take a win with the POWRi Speedway Motors Micros during POWRi Illinois SPEED Week in the past three races.
Starting in the sixth position, Miller had his work cut out for him after last night’s winner at Fayette County Speedway, Harley Hollan, started on the pole by virtue of passing points. Hollan set a quick pace from the beginning, making Miller’s job even more difficult. With 10 laps complete, Brandon Anderson got upside down in turns three and four bringing out the red and closing the distance between Miller and Hollan.
On the restart, Miller overtook Hollan for the lead and led the remaining nine laps on his way to victory. Harley Hollan finished in second, while Aaron Andruskevitch took third. Jake Andreotti finished in fourth, while Andy Bishop rounded out the top five.
“We got something going there in the middle of one and two,” said Joe B. Miller. “Derek and Lance got me setup tonight and I’ve got to thank everyone that helps. We were good at Belleville, and last night really, we just didn’t have any luck.”
“Joe B.’s tough to beat,” commented Harley Hollan. “He’s awful fast, but I’ll take second. We’re having a good week so far.”
“It’s tough to get a podium with POWRi,” stated Aaron Andruskevitch. “These guys race week in and week out. Jeremy Camp, Hollan, Joe B, all these guys. Obviously, I’d like to be where Joe B. is, but we’ll take it.”
