Hollan Wins Night Two of POWRi Illinois SPEED Week

Brownstown, IL – Building upon last night’s finish at Belle-Clair Speedway, Harley Hollan marked off a second-career victory with the POWRi Speedway Motors 600cc Outlaw Micro League and etched his name into the POWRi Illinois SPEED Week record books. By winning at Fayette County Speedway, Hollan is now one of 13 different drivers to capture a win during POWRi Illinois SPEED Week.

Starting in the back half of the field in the 11th position, Hollan went to work at the drop of the green flag charging towards the front. While early race leader Jeremy Camp fended off challenges from Aaron Andruskevitch, Hollan had mounted a charge to third by lap five. Overtaking Camp for the lead on lap nine, Hollan immediately placed space between himself and Camp on his way to the win.

Austin Schaeffer who started in the 13th position took a page out of Hollan’s book and rim-rode the high-banked Fayette County Speedway to the second position, while Jeremy Camp took third. Jason McDougal finished fourth, with Jake Andreotti in fifth.

“I had a good setup by the guys and a lot of hard work went into trying to figure out this track that we’ve never been to,” commented Harley Hollan. “I owe most of it to those guys. It’s such a big track; you can’t tell what’s going on behind you. Again, congratulations to my guys.”

“The track was awesome tonight,” said Austin Schaeffer. “I’ve never ran a track this big in a micro, so that was a different deal. Congrats to Harley Hollan, he got through the field quick and he stayed there. Jeremy Camp drove a helluva race. I’d like to thank my crew chief, Cole Campbell for helping me tonight. It’s awesome.”

“We’re not too bad,” stated Jeremy Camp. “We had the Sawyer Chassis hooked up pretty decent, we just could never find the sweet spot. We were either a little tight or a little loose. We’ll just have to go work on it for tomorrow.”
