LAS CRUCES, Nm. (September 30, 2017) - Lorne Wofford picked up his fourth POWRi Lucas Oil WAR 305 Winged Sprint win of the year at the finale of the league's season at Southern New Mexico Speedway in Las Cruces, New Mexico Saturday night. Kyle McCutcheon, Robert Herrera, Derek Demartino, and Don Grable rounded out the top five.
The high-banked 3/8 mile clay oval produced a stellar racing surface allowing L.Wofford to charge from his tenth starting position to victory lane. Herrera, Demartino, and McCutcheon were heat race winners for the evening and McCutcheon also won the dash.
Wes Wofford wrapped up the 2017 championship in dominating fashion over Herrera by 342 points. Jett Carney ended up third over Lorne Wofford (4), Kyle McCutcheon (5), Don Grable (6), Ricky Holden (7), Chuck Jackson (8), Joseph Hernandez (9), and Royal Jones rounded out the top ten.
