National Midgets and Micros Gear Up for Third Annual Camfield Memorial

Belleville, IL – This Saturday, August 19th, the POWRi Lucas Oil National Midget League and POWRi Speedway Motors 600cc Outlaw Micro League are set to invade the mighty Macon Speedway for the final visit of 2017. The Third Annual Rich Camfield Memorial honors the late Rich Camfield, a tremendous supporter of midget racing, nationwide.

Hailing from Decatur, Illinois Rich Camfield was the 2001 Midwest Auto Racing Association (MARA) Champion and a frequent participant in the annual Chili Bowl Nationals. A stone’s throw away from Rich’s hometown, Macon Speedway hosts the Annual Rich Camfield Memorial. Rich’s racing legacy is carried on by the rest of the Camfield family; Dalton, David, and Devin.

As the POWRi Lucas Oil National Midget League heads into the final stages of the season, Zach Daum leads the standings with a 460 point advantage over leading Rookie of the Year contender, Logan Seavey. Tucker Klaasmeyer sits in third, 430 points behind Seavey and 90 points ahead of Jake Neuman. Andrew Felker rounds out the top five, 110 points behind Neuman.

In POWRi Speedway Motors 600cc Outlaw Micro League competition, Joe B. Miller sits in the top position, 390 points ahead of Luke Verardi. Kurt Westerfield sits in third, a mere 20 points behind Verardi, and 30 points ahead of Nathan Benson. Slater Helt rounds out the top five, 60 points behind Benson.
