Belleville, IL – The POWRi Speedway Motors 600cc Outlaw Micro Series 2017 schedule has been released featuring 23 events. New for 2017, the Speedway Motors Micros will kick off the season in Tulsa, Oklahoma at Port City Raceway for the fifth annual Turnpike Challenge, being featured alongside the POWRi Lucas Oil National Midget Series and the POWRi Lucas Oil West Midget Series.
For the sixth year, the POWRi Speedway Motors 600cc Outlaw Micro Series will partake in Illinois SPEED Week, with three nights of racing. The micros will start out at Jacksonville Speedway on Friday, June 2nd before Macon Speedway on Saturday, June 3rd. Illinois SPEED Week will then conclude on Sunday, June 4th at Lincoln Speedway. Illinois SPEED Week is run with the POWRi Lucas Oil National Midget Series and the POWRi Lucas Oil Division II Midget Series.
The Belle-Vegas Bash on June 30th and the Knepper Memorial on July 1st comprise one of two doubleheader weekends at the historic Belle-Clair Speedway in Belleville, Illinois with the other weekend being the Charlene Meents Memorial presented by Priority Aviation on September 29th and 30th.
On July 14th and 15th, the POWRi Speedway Motors 600cc Outlaw Micro Series will make the inaugural appearance for the Thunder in the Valley at Valley Speedway in Grain Valley, Missouri. The two-day show will have the micros running alongside a tri-sanctioned event for the POWRi Lucas Oil National Midget Series, POWRi Lucas Oil West Midget Series, and the newly formed POWRi Lucas Oil Allstar Midget Series.
Other standout events include the annual appearance at Fayette County Speedway in Brownstown, Illinois on May 20th and the Southern Illinois Shootout on September 16th, where the micros will bring the POWRi Lucas Oil National Midget Series to town with them for the first showing of sanctioned midget racing on the high-banked Southern Illinois Raceway in Marion, Illinois. The Southern Illinois Shootout will be one of two visits to Southern Illinois Raceway, with the first being June 10th.
The micros will round out 2017 and the quest for the POWRi Speedway Motors 600cc Outlaw Micro Series championship at Jacksonville Speedway in Jacksonville, Illinois on October 13th and 14th running alongside the POWRi Lucas Oil National Midget Series and POWRi Lucas Oil Division II Midget Series on October 14th.
