Herb Barlow Memorial & Tom Knowles Memorial

Belleville, IL – One of the most highly anticipated weekends of the year is just around the corner. Friday, September 9th will kick off the Herb Barlow Memorial at Jacksonville Speedway in Jacksonville, Illinois for the POWRi Lucas Oil National Midget Series and POWRi Speedway Motors 600cc Outlaw Micro Series. On Saturday, September 10th, the POWRi Lucas Oil National Midget Series will break off from the micros and head north to Spoon River Speedway in Canton, Illinois with the MOWA sprint car series for the Tom Knowles Memorial. The solo event of the year at Spoon River Speedway, the POWRi Lucas Oil National Midget Series duel with one another in what is always an action-packed thriller.

With four wins so far in 2016, Zach Daum holds the top spot with a 480-point advantage over Tanner Thorson heading to the Herb Barlow Memorial at Jacksonville. Spencer Bayston rides in third with two wins up to this weekend, a mere 80 points behind Thorson. Justin Peck holds the fourth position, 190 points out of third. In 2015 Peck captured his first POWRi Lucas Oil National Midget Series victory at Spoon River Speedway for the Tom Knowles Memorial. Jake Neuman rounds out the top five, 150 points behind Peck.

Creating a legacy all of his own, three time and defending POWRi Speedway Motors 600cc Outlaw Micro Series champion Nathan Benson looks to be well on his way to become the first driver to ever go four-in-a-row for championships, with a 760-point lead over Shelby Bosie. With two wins in 2016, Jeremy Camp holds third with a 500-point advantage over fourth place sitter, Slater Helt. Alec Long is in fifth, a mere 60 points out of fourth place.
