Bosie Seals the Deal, Takes Second Career POWRi Victory

Bosie Seals the Deal, Takes Second Career POWRi Victory

Belleville, IL– Capitalizing on Joe B. Miller’s misfortune, Shelby Bosie of Sherman, Illinois captured his second career POWRi Speedway Motors 600cc Outlaw Micro Series victory, this time at Belle-Clair Speedway. Bosie’s first victory came earlier this season at Fayette County Speedway. Earning the pole starting position for the 20 lap feature by virtue of passing points, Bosie was overtaken by Joe B. Miller at the drop of the green. Staying in the second position for the following 15 laps put Bosie in prime position to take advantage of Miller’s misfortune, as Miller ended up spun on the back stretch after contact with a lap car with five to go.

Returning to racing, Bosie would power away from the field and take the checkers for his second career POWRi Speedway Motors 600cc Outlaw Micro Series win. Kurt Westerfield would finish second after starting eighth, while Chad Elliott took third, both career bests. Joey Wirth finished fourth, while Alec Long rounded out the top five.

“I feel bad for Joe B.,” said an emotional Shelby Bosie. “He had a great lead, he was definitely the one to beat tonight. To get a win tonight is great. I believe like what Childer’s used to say is once you win one, you’re going to win more than one that year. This is our second one of the year. Last year was a rollercoaster year, this year is just phenomenal.”

“This is a great car for us,” stated Kurt Westerfield. “I just love this racetrack, how we can do slide jobs. It’s really fun. I hope it was a good show for the fans. I want to thank most of all my dad, without him, this car wouldn’t be on this racetrack.”
“First podium finish with POWRi,” Chad Elliott said. “It feels good to finally get up on the podium with this group of cars. Everyone one of them is talented. It’s been a blast racing these last couple of weeks. We’ve been close, but we haven’t quite sealed the deal yet. I think by the end of the year we can.”
