Fayette County Produces Two First Time Winners in First Completed Event Since 2012

Brownstown, IL– In the first time that POWRi has ran a race at Fayette County Speedway since 2012, the high-banked ¼ mile produced two first time winners. Carson Macedo took the POWRi Lucas Oil National Midget Series win, while veteran Shelby Bosie earned his first-career POWRi Speedway Motors 600cc Outlaw Micro Series victory.

In POWRi Speedway Motors 600cc Outlaw Micro Series competition, Shelby Bosie started inside the second row, quickly moving into the second position behind leader Nathan Benson at the drop of the green flag. On lap six Gabe Verardi brought out the initial caution of the evening and bunched the field up. Coming back to green Bosie would move to the upper middle of the high-banked quarter mile, building momentum and staying on top of Benson. On lap 14 Bosie carried enough momentum running an impressive line and was able to power by Benson for the lead.

Leading the final six laps, Bosie stretched his lead to multiple car lengths over Benson in a dominant career first with the POWRi Speedway Motors 600cc Outlaw Micro Series. Benson brought home second, while Jeremy Camp rounded out the podium. Allen Cope finished in fourth while Garrett Duff finished fifth after starting on the pole.

“I can’t believe it to be honest,” stated an overjoyed Shelby Bosie. “To be able to run with Jeremy Camp and Nathan Benson, I mean it’s a dream come true just to be able to run with them, but to race with them, that’s a dream come true.”

“He did a great job,” said Nathan Benson. “Hat’s off to Shelby, you can’t find a better kid and a better family that works hard. They deserve this; it’s a long time coming. Congrats to him.”

“Awesome job to Shelby, it’s a long deserved win and they deserve it, so congratulations to them,” said Jeremy Camp. “Our car wasn’t too bad. We got pretty close there at the end.”
