Belleville, IL. (9/21/25) Capping off a season defined by willpower, horsepower, and consistency at Vado Speedway Park, Robert Herrera has officially claimed the 2025 Sunset Grill POWRi Vado Non-Wing Sprint Car Championship.
Behind the wheel of the No. 9 entry, Herrera put together a string of strong finishes throughout the season to rise to the top of the standings, earning a division-best 625 points. With a trio of top-five runs and finishes inside the top ten all but once, Robert’s steady pace kept him ahead in the championship chase from spring through the fall finale.
The Sunset Grill POWRi Vado Non-Wing Sprint Division once again delivered some of the most competitive racing in the Southwest, with determined fields and wheel-to-wheel action each weekend. Herrera’s championship season showcased not only speed but also the consistency needed to withstand the grind of competition, with previous champion Caleb Stelzig finishing second and Mike Zeihl rounding out the seasonal podium.
