(10/13/24) Clinching the 2024 POWRi National Midget League Jim Childers Rookie of the Year Award, Columbus Indiana rising star Gunnar Setser would solidify his name among the upper echelon of open wheel talents through consistency and a remarkable runner-up placement in his overall National League Season Championship debut.
Attaining five top-five performances with a seasonal best showing of second place while battling at Lake Ozark Speedway in July as well as eleven top-tens in the POWRi National Midget League entry season, Gunnar Setser would clinch the rookie title over twenty divisional yearly starts. Achieving a late-season quick time award, high point qualifier accolade, and heat race victory; Setser would also notch a pair of hard charger accomplishments throughout the yearly feature competition. Gaining a league-leading fifty-nine positions on the season, Gunnar continues to rise through the racing ranks while leading four laps throughout the year.
Splitting time between the familiar family-owned Midwest Tube Mill, Lynch Machining, Professional Concrete Cutting, Setser Fabrication, Lynk Chassis, Stanton SR-11X Racing Engine #43 as well as limited schedule with Keith Kunz Motorsports, Lynk Chassis, Toyota Racing Development #98 entry; Setser dominate the third annual Jim Childers Rookie of the Year Award in resounding success with the POWRi National Midget League 2024 season.
