Belleville, IL (6/18/23) Andrew Felker would be on a mission of speed Saturday Night to claim checkers at I-44 Riverside Speedway in stand-alone competition with the POWRi West Midget League to notch his twelfth career league victory.
Early on-track action would find Andrew Felker showing on-track speed with an 11.145/second-lap time to capture hot-lap quick-time as Felker and Henry Chambers would each earn the heat racing win with Chambers gaining the high-point award and pole grid for the feature line-up.
Launching to the initial green would find pole-sitter Henry Chambers aiming to win the night with outside front-row companion Michelle Decker locked in an intense battle for the top spot as Henry Chambers would gain the early advantage with Pierce Urbanosky, Michelle Decker, Shannon McQueen, and Andrew Felker rounding out the early stages top-five.
Overtaking for the front of the field, Michelle Decker would lead the feature for one lap as Pierce Urbanosky also joined in the pack leading momentum for four laps as the intense action began to heat up on the smooth surfaces of I-44 Riverside Speedway.
Intensely battling all over the track, Andrew Felker would emerge as the feature leader around the sixth lap after a spirited shuffle for positions from competitors as Shannon McQueen would shoot into the runner-up positioning.
Proving to be quickest on the event, Andrew Felker would not be denied in earning his twelfth league feature win as hard-charger Shannon McQueen advanced four positions to finish runner-up with Pierce Urbanosky finishing in the final podium position.
Staying in the hunt for the front all night Michelle Decker would place fourth with eighth-starting Devin Simmons rounding out the top-five finishers for the POWRi West Midget League at I-44 Riverside Speedway.
