Belleville, IL. (5/7/2023) Starting the newly sanctioned seasonal competition, the POWRi Illinois Midget Racing Association would showcase action aplenty as Mark McMahill would continue his perfection in dominance to grab the feature win and jump-start the 2023 racing season.
Kicking off the POWRi sanctioning at Spoon River Speedway, the IMRA would find Mark McMahill notch the heat racing win as well as gaining the pole-starting grid for the twenty-lap feature event.
Going green flag feature racing for the first time in 2023 on Friday would find Mark McMahill defending the front of the field for the full twenty laps to earn the first-ever sanctioned IMRA victory with Shane Morgan hard-charging to a solid runner-up showing from starting fifth.
Pacing closely, Russell Johnston would finish third as Rueben Haslett placed a solid fourth with rookie contender Michael Hermacinski rounding out the top five feature finishers for the POWRi Illinois Midget Racing Association on the season-opening event at Spoon River Speedway.
