Belleville, IL. (3/9/2023) Expanding upon open wheel competitional offerings while supporting grassroots racing, the Illinois Midget Racing Association will compete under the POWRi sanctioning in the 2023 season and beyond.
Embarking on a tentative three-venue journey spanning thirteen events throughout Illinois and into Iowa, the newly sanctioned POWRi IMRA will be primarily dedicated as an introductory and cost-effective midget division.
“Our biggest goal within POWRi sanctioning is to help the Illinois Midget Racing Association grow. IMRA has established themselves as a successful series, we can help by providing the necessary tools and equipment that allow proper tech, series promotion, and further expansion.”
Witnessing superb and stacked events at the home facility of Spoon River Speedway on eight separate occasions including the Season Opener(5/6) and Knowles/Hull/Trone Memorials(9/16). Lee County Speedway, in Donnellson Iowa, will welcome the growing series for four events with Champaign County Speedway opening the gates for the County Fair; as well as plans to expand and more.
