Belleville, IL. (10/8/2022) Contending in ten events in 2022, the POWRi Desert Wing Sprint Series presented by MVT Services would witness intense action at a trio of venues spanning a pair of Southwestern states as Lorne Wofford would find the championship-winning formula for the second-year series.
Winning his series first feature event at Aztec Speedway in August, Lorne Wofford would start the season with a runner-up placement at Vado Speedway Park while notching five heat race wins on the season. Finishing inside the top-10 in all but a pair of features, Wofford would gain six top-5 finishes on the year.
Clinching the championship in the final event of the season, Lorne Wofford would use consistency and a single-season win to earn the series title. Going from starting the night third, Wofford would finish fourth in the season-ending night to jump into the points championship earning position.

Lorne Wofford, among other POWRi League Champions, will be honored at the Annual POWRi Championship Banquet on Saturday, January 21 at Margaritaville Lake Resort in Osage Beach, Missouri.
