(10/6/2022) Immediately setting a precedent of racing precision, Steven Russell would make an emphatic statement of speed in his debut season with the Lucas Oil POWRi Wingless Auto Racing Sprint League to capture the 2022 Rookie of the Year Honors as well as runner-up placement in the seasonal championship chase.
Notching a single heat race win as well as a lone semi-feature victory, Russell would shine in earning feature hard-charging accolades by collecting six on the year; to double the most won in the previous two seasons. Finishing inside the top-10 on ten occasions, six by way of top-5 performances, Steven would advance ninety-eight positions in feature competition in 2022.
“I’m so proud of this team that we have put together as it was my first real full season behind a car in five years while having never raced non-wing before.
Practically building the car from the ground up to finishing runner-up in the season standings with a Rookie of the Year award is beyond our expectations.
