Chase Randall Claims Championship Night of JHDMM in POWRi WAR

Belleville, IL. (9/17/22) Chase Randall would ride the wave of winning momentum into the Lucas Oil POWRi Wingless Auto Racing Sprint League Championship Night of the Twelfth Annual Jesse Hockett/Daniel McMillin Memorial at Lucas Oil Speedway feature event Saturday Night to capture his second career league win in epic fashion.

Early on track accomplishments of the championship night with fifty-eight entries would witness Cody Baker clock fast-time in hot laps with a 15.839-second-lap as Xavier Doney earned the quickest time in lock-in hot lap action with a 16.661-second lap after an early intermission track rework. Casey Shuman, Jesse Vermillion, Justin Zimmerman, and Isaac Chapple would each notch semi-feature racing victories. Going perfect on prelim-night one would see Mario Clouser gain the high point qualifier award with Chase Randall also earning a front-row starting spot.

Battling on the initial green flag start would find Mario Clouser combat front-row companion Chase Randall into the first pair of corners with Mario Clouser gaining the early race lead as Chase Randall, Wyatt Burks, Wesley Smith, and Landon Simon attempted to run down the speedy leader.

Keeping the field of drivers behind him, Clouser would maintain the point of the field through a flurry of restarts as Chase Randall stayed within striking distance. Mounting a charge to the front, Randall would make the winning pass for the lead on lap twenty-two of thirty.

Sliding into the lead, Chase Randall would hold off all the late-stage battles for the top spot to clinch the championship night honors while earning his second career feature win within POWRi WAR racing. One-time leader Mario Clouser would finish in the runner-up positioning with Wesley Smith clinching the final podium placement in the event.

“What an awesome weekend, we came to just have some fun with the non-wings but now I think we’re going to have to race this class a little more. This track suits the style of driving; I love, the throw it in the corner and hope it sticks kind of racing,” said an elated Chase Randall in the Lucas Oil Speedway Victory Lane ceremony.

Maintaining a solid showing all night, Casey Shuman would wheel his way to way to finish fourth as Wyatt Burks rounded out the top-five finishers in the Lucas Oil POWRi Wingless Auto Racing Sprint League feature event at Lucas Oil Speedway on Championship Night of the Twelfth Annual Jesse Hockett/Daniel McMillin Memorial.
