Caleb Saiz and Vance Wofford Split Weekend Wins with POWRi DWSS/ASCS Southwest

Belleville, IL. (6/12/22) Offering a fast-paced double-header holiday weekend of racing excitement at Aztec Speedway, the POWRi Desert Wing Sprint Series presented by MVT Services would join the ASCS Southwest Region with outstanding action aplenty as Caleb Saiz and Vance Wofford would win the weekend of feature racing excitement.

Kicking off the Aztec Speedway double-header weekend with twenty entries on Friday would see Lorne Wofford, Shane Redline, and Don Grable each notch heat racing wins.

Going green flag feature racing Friday would find eleventh-starting Caleb Saiz rocket to the front of the field to earn his first career series victory with Don Grable, who started third, maintaining a solid runner-up placement.

Outside front-row starter Brett Becker would finish third as Logan Calderwood hard-charged from seventeenth to place fourth with Rick Ziehl rounding out the top five feature finishers for the POWRi Desert Wing Sprint Series/ASCS Southwest Region and Night One of the Weekend Double-Header at Aztec Speedway.

Cruising into the final night of the Aztec Speedway doubleheader with nineteen competitors registered would witness Wes Wofford, Lorne Wofford, and JT Imperial all claiming heat race wins.

Feature action Saturday would find pole-sitter Vance Wofford wheel his out front and protect the lead to notch his first career POWRi DWSS feature victory with outside front-row starter JT Imperial claiming the runner-up position as Don Grable would drive from starting eighth to finishing in the final podium placing.

Contending up front for the feature, Lorne Wofford would race to finish fourth with Rick Ziehl, for the second time in the weekend of racing, rounding out the top five feature finishers for the POWRi Desert Wing Sprint Series/ASCS Southwest Region and Night Two of the Weekend Double-Header at Aztec Speedway.
