Belleville, IL. (2/28/2022) Entering into their third full season of competition, the POWRi Southwest Lightning Sprints are all set to start their outstanding 2022 season with a wingless weekend racing visit to Imperial Valley Speedway on March 5-6.
Boasting “The Fastest 1/5-mile Under the Sea”, Imperial Valley Speedway will host the California Mid-Winter Fair on March 5-6 for a weekend of fun and wingless action with the POWRi Southwest Lightning Sprints as well as Non-Wing 600cc Micro’s, and Jr Sprints all on the racing agenda.
Spanning eleven various hosting venues of speed, the POWRi SWLS will see the weekend visits to Imperial Valley Speedway bookend the season with October 22-23 finalizing the season. With trips to five states for events, SWLS drivers will have the opportunity to battle in both twenty-one wing and six non-wing races on the agenda throughout the year as well as six races to be non-points events.
Based out of southern California, the POWRi Southwest Lightning Sprints will see Lakeside California’s Barona Speedway once again serve as the home-hosting facility with six Saturday dates marking the calendar including April 30, May 14, June 11, June 25, July 9, and October 1.
Stepping outside of California will see the POWRi SWLS make appearances at Arizona’s Mohave Valley Raceway on March 10-12 and October 8, as well as venturing to Everson Washington for the Annual Clay Cup at Deming Speedway on July 14-16.
Growing in popularity and entries yearly the POWRi SWLS will now add more prestige to the yearly racing schedule with entrance into the Lemoore Speedway’s Cali-Cup on October 13-15 in Lemoore California.
Doubling down on the POWRi Lightning Sprint National Events in 2022, with bonus incentives at National Events provided by Tomy Moreau courtesy of Henchcraft Canada, will a pair of series host six racing events to span the season.
Memorial Day Weekend, on May 28-29, will mark the continuation of the POWRi Lightning Sprint Nationals hosted at Central Missouri Speedway by the POWRi Midwest Lightning Sprints.
Witnessing drivers make the long journey to the north for the second annual POWRi Lightning Sprint Summer Shootout. August 11th through August 14th, outstanding racing venues in North Dakota and Minnesota and the POWRi Lucas Oil Minn-Kota Lightning Sprints will welcome top-notch drivers to test their talents in a challenging two-state four-day sweep of racing glory.
